So the holidays continue, and to my surprise mine have been quite action packed.
So they basically started on Friday when I went away on holidays, (yes I know I've already written this, its called recounting) from which I came back on the Monday.
Tuesday, I went to the movies with Michelle to see Rush Hour 3
Wednesday I played the Serenity RPG with my friends
Thursday I read some books and rested up
Friday was the most awesome day of the holidays so far.
I went ice skating with my two best friends, and we had so much fun. I was really surprised cause I didn't fall over once, and actually did okay, because I remember me not being so good, so that was awesome. So we stayed there for the whole time the centre was open, 10:30 in the morning till 3:00 in the afternoon. It was so good. Then, because we were having so much fun and didn't want to go home we went to the movies, haha, as you do. Me and Alex wanted to see The Nanny Diaries, which Alex was quite persistent about but I didn't think we should force Charlie to sit through a chick flick (she was quite adamant that it wasn't a chick flick because there were guys in it, to which I replied that is the whole point of chick flicks). So we watched Superbad, which did live up to its name, but I kind of liked it. It was extremely extremely crude and awful, but still funny. George Michael (Michael Cera) - from Arrested Development one of my favourite TV's shows was in it and he was hilarious mostly because he was basically playing the same character just more rebellious. So that was fun. But the day ended with me finding out stuff about some of my other friends that I really didn't want to know. People who I have lost a huge amount of respect for and who apparently have no values/morals/sense of propriety. So that was a damper, but nothing could kill the awesomeness of the day. I'd love to go iceskating again with the same group these hols, so fingers crossed about that happening.
So saturday I was going to have a quiet day resting but my friend Neil rang and I went over his place that afternoon. It was at this point that I died inside on the way over in the car when I realised that I had completely forgotten about a band performance I was supposed to go to that very morning. I was so disappointed because it was the Macarthur band (the best one I play in) whom I love to play with and we hadn't had a performance in ages plus I now have my shirt/uniform so I would look like a true member. But I forgot!!!!! *wails profusely*
But anyway, I had to move on. So I got to Neils place and his dad cooked us homemade pizza for dinner and it was sooo good. Way better then store bought. We went to their local newsagents (which, coincidently, happens to be the only shop in town) and hired a PS2 game called Turok which I recommended cause I'd played it before. You basically run around and kill dinosaurs but in the multiplayer mode you run around and kill each other, so it was good fun.
Then he forced me to watch the worst movie ever ever made. It was so awfully bad. It was called Black Sheep. It was made in New Zealand - and as if that wasn't bad enough - the plot was basically about genetically mutated sheep who ate people. But wait, theres more. I know it doesn't seem possible, but yes, it gets worse. If these people are simply bitten and not eaten fully they morph and turn into what would only be described as a were-sheep. Basically like a were-wolf but a sheep, which would then run around and try to eat people. On top of this, something unsavoury is hinted at in the relationship between the antagonist and a sheep. Its disgusting. Basically he is discovered in a room by the protagonist with a sheep whom he tells 'you wouldn't understand' but to make it worse, he's not wearing any pants!!! It was sick.
So yeah. Then we started watching a movie called The Rock which looked like it would have been really good - it was about Alcatraz and had Sean Connery, Nicholas Cage AND John Spencer in it - but by that time we were both falling asleep.
Then I woke up on Sunday early so I decided to steal a book from a bookcase in the hallway and read it. It was the book of my favourite movie About A Boy and it was basically the same as the movie just slower. But then Neil got up so I ended up borrowing it. :D
We went for a walk to this place near his house called Little River. Don't let the name fool you, because there was a huge trek to get to the place down massive rocks into a huge valley. It was so awesome though. I love bush walking and it was just like the blue mountains, and I'm so jealous because thats basically his back yard. The river was so beautiful and there was a mini waterfall so the walk was worth it, but then we had to walk back UP which was a killer. But we made it. Then we played play station for a bit again before I left.
So today, Monday, I am simply lazing around happily having a well earned Blah Day. I've been reading, I've watched the entire Season 5 of Scrubs which was awesome, I've played the piano for a bit, I've been on the net (obviously) and I intend to play the Clarinet for a bit and finish watching Season 2 of Dark Angel.
I was asking my mum the other day about how much my instruments cost and she finally told me how much my sax was, which really only made me feel guilty. We found the receipt for my Clarinet ( she REALLY never throws ANYTHING away) and it was only $395, which for a wooden Buffet Clarinet is basically a steal. So I feel so indebted to my parents (well not like I didn't already) as they have spent over $10 000 on my instruments over the years not including the lessons I had for about 7 years, the servicings, the reeds, the music stands, the stools, the band fees, the band uniforms, and most importantly the music. Not to mention all the ink I used that day I spent 5 hours photocopying band music. There is just no way I could ever repay all they have done for me. But they say its worth it because they love to hear me play (aww) which I think is a pretty sucky reward. But hey, theres no way in hell I'd ever complain.
So I still have a week left to enjoy my freedom before school begins once again. Which admittedly I am excited about. I even got some more contact so I can cover some new books. I already had the books as when Big W was having a sale at the start of last year mum bought me about 30 A4 126 page exercise books so I'm pretty much set for the rest of my schooling. But I get the best contact. The clear stuff, but not the dodgy plastic-ey stuff they sell with the other contact, but the heavy duty stuff that you're supposed to use to line your drawers with that they sell in the hardware section.
I'm a bit nervous about going back because I really do hope I pull my act together and do some work. Everytime I get a good mark back mum jokingly says "imagine if you'd actually tried", which is true. I really need to buckle down and put everything into this last year. I still haven't finally decided which subjects I'm going to drop. I'm thinking almost definately Modern History, even though I love it, I think two Historys in the HSC just might be essay overload on top of English and Ext. English. But I'm tossing up whether or not to keep Ext. Maths. Because I do like it, but I could do without it. I'll probably just keep it anyway though.
So I'm off now to continue lazing around and enjoying my last week of holidays
adios.
