Run Away!!!

So I'm dying just a little bit at the moment.
I have no idea what I'm doing posting on a pointless blog right in the middle of my exam period. Probably just another weird avoidance tactic of mine.
I'm strange like that.
So today I had my 2U Maths and Extension English Papers.
They were... interesting to say the least
I completely died during my Ext. English.
We had to write a gothic story, and mine was the worst piece of literature I have ever written in my life. And that is not an exaggeration. I was really quite disappointed in myself actually, because if I had actually prepared I would have done a good job, but noooooo, I just had to be my stupid old self and WING it!!! moron.
So yeah, that was interesting.
Right now I should be studying for my history exam, I have ancient tomorrow then modern the next day, but instead, I am going to go to band tonight and waste a little more time.
Just because it seems like the thing to do.
I am really worried about my ancient exam tomorrow, because it is something I really want to do well in. I am coming first in the subject at the moment, but this could really screw me over. Which would be unfortunate.
I'm really hoping next year I'll actually pull myself together and get some work done, considering its the most important of my schooling years, not to mention my last one.

I was searching in some drawers on the weekend for no particular reason (as I said, I have some pretty strange avoidance techniques) and I discovered that my mother has kept my primary school reports.
1. I didn't know we even got reports in primary school
2. My mother doesn't throw ANYTHING out. Being in a family of hoarders is problematic
So I was looking, and I was either D - developed or C - competent in everything.
The last page was all about effort and school spirit etc (this is in kindergarten mind you) and it was rated from 1 down.
Get this - I had a 2 in "completing set tasks on time". In kindergarten!!!
Apparently my teacher told my mum that I "didn't like being told what to do"

Yeah, I was all set for a great future ahead of me.

Hiatus

Okay, so as you may have noticed by now, I'm not exactly one to keep it up with the regular posts. I'm not a huge internet user, so sue me.

Anyway, life has been getting on. Mostly schooling but its all good fun. However a scary stuff looms on the horizon; exams are nigh! Thats never fun, but when its over I'll be ready for my last year of school and thats the real scary stuff... where too from there? I really want to travel, see the world and all that jazz, yet there is the question - where will the money come from? Thats always annoying to think about. Damn you reality, dashing my hopes of a limitless future. I think my first destination will be Europe. Ireland perhaps, as this is where my future husband awaits me (I'm going marry an Irishman because of their amazing accents, but I could settle for a Pommie aswell). Then perhaps a return visit to Japan, because the two weeks I spent there last year were the most amazing ones of my life. The people, the atmosphere, the food, the sights, just the everything. It was incredible. Hiroshima was an especially moving place to visit.

I finished reading a book today. I love reading, but sadly don't really have the time to read very often anymore so I decided to make time. It was The Amber Spyglass by Phillip Pullman, the last of the His Dark Materials trilogy. I quite enjoyed it and the other books, yet I didn't really like the ending. I also recently read a book called Atlantic Shift by Emily Barr, which I liked quite a bit aswell. It was frustrating at times as the protagonist wasn't quite likeable in all she did but I suppose it was good in that she wasn't glorified like most lead characters are; she had visible flaws. It was an added bonus that she was a cellist though :) Sorry, but I had to have some musical reference.

Speaking of music, I was disappointed last Tuesday at rehersal as one of the bands I play in - the community band - who is generally quite good, sounded awful. There were quite afew people missing and it seemed to fall to pieces. But my hope was reborn once again with friday rehersal - the symphonic wind (no wisecracks please) - where rehersal was absoloutely awesome. I just love playing in that band as they are just so talented.
However I was quite shocked recently when I learnt that my musical director (the person I previously mentioned as the greatest musical genius I have met) is dating a 19 year old. Even more disturbing is the fact that I grew up knowing this girl, and that 25 year gap is just... well alot. But hey, if they're happy... well thats what counts.
I am such a massive band nerd that I was hugely disappointed to learn no practise next friday because of the APEC public holiday. Damn you political leaders! I want to make music! haha. I suppose I'll live. I was happy to learn I was not alone in my devestation as a fellow band friend was also upset at the loss. All is well.

So I spent most of today watching television. A fact sad but true. I was catching up on the first two Jason Bourne movies in preparation for the Ultimatum. Very exciting stuff. It was good watching the first two though, because I'd forgotten most of what happened. I was immensely disappointed when I consulted the TV guide and discovered I'd missed the most incredible sporting event to be shown on television that is the genius of the AirRace World Series. :( I missed the equally wonderful Hungarian Peter Besenyei and his extraordinary piloting skills. Its so exciting to watch. The only sport other than tennis I will actually watch, understand and enjoy. Its also fun as its almost like a real life version of the book Hover Car Racer by Matthew Reilley, a true Australian literary genius. I'm hoping that Mike Mangold won't win - as although I'm sure he's a lovely person and all that - because he's an American and they seem to think they're just incredible at everything. Go AIR RACE!

So I think thats all I'm going to be bothered with for today. Its getting late, and I do adore sleeping. I think its ridiculous when people come to school complaining about being tired and you ask them when they went to sleep and its something like 1am. Its just idiodic: Go to bed earlier and you won't be tired. Simple logic. Some people just can't seem to grasp the concept.

Finally - I just remembered to mention, I was watching the genius of Monty Python this evening. And Now For Something Completely Different, I had a stitch I was laughing so hard. Its just the fact that its crude, awful and so politically incorrect that makes it so incredible. Twit of the Year is just the funniest skit. Pure comical genius.

Finally Finally - I acquired some of the music from the movie The Piano which I have not seen, but the music is awesome to play, and I'd like to see it sometime in the future

Finally (really this time) - I just watched the Alias episode from last week, and finally
J.J Abrams is remembering what its all about. You've got to love a family get together with Sydney, Jack and Irena where they're trying to kill each other.

Final.. - just kidding :)
